Which leads to Noorun ala Noor ( Light upon light)
One of the words for eye and vision Arabic is noor. Noor is light that has no burning in it. It is calm and soothing. When do the eyes function….
when there is light. Our way to observe reality around us is through our vision. We don’t know what anything looks like until there is light and even those who can’t see use their imagination to see.
Allah calls himself Noor but not just any noor. Noor us samawate wal ard. Which is particular and it means the light of the skies and the earth. The skies and the earth is Quran’s reference to the physical universe. What you can see as far as your imagination can go in this world. So what Allah is saying is that without light and which is the Light of Allah … human beings can’t really see anything. You think you see it but looking at the skies and the earth without Allah is like you are as lost to its awe and purpose as someone who can’t see anything at all.
When you are talking about the noor of Allah it cannot be encapsulated but it is a parable to help us understand the significance of the Light. His light ( the light of skies and the earth) is like a Niche in the wall and the niche has a lamp in it and the lamp’s glass is sparkling clear and the lamp has the purist (olive) oil the likes of which cannot be found in the east or the west and when the lamp is lit it’s light encompasses everything. so the place is dark until the Noor of Allah lights it up.
Now take this analogy and apply to humans.
The niche in the wall is our rib cage in which Allah has placed a lamp ( our heart) furnished with pure rooh and that lamp is light up with pure faith … the purity of which determines the intensity ( that is the first light… noor) and then the heart is filled with revelation ( the Quran … the other light …noor)… and thus our hearts have two lights …noors…. the noor of faith and the noor of Quran….. when the light inside synchronizes with the revelation then the whole entity lits up .
The darkness inside goes away
The sadness inside goes away
The doubt goes away
The anxiety goes away
Noorun-ala- Noor….
light upon light….Subhan Allah
ALLAH is the light of heavens and earth ….Noorun Ala Noor ❤…..he guides to his light…..
Each creature is busy in praising him in dhikr prescribed to them…..the heavens and earth are singing the dhikr of Allah ….its just that we humans are deaf due to the veils on our heart caused by our NAFS and Shaitan
May Allah save from the darkness and grant our soul ….the divine light ❤…ameen
But it’s a two way street. Allah guides one to the light only if they are willing. Allah is only willing to give the light if we are willing to take it. The two wills should be simultaneous and Allah only gives examples.
