🔟 The Ten Major Signs Before Judgment Day

As mentioned in the hadith of Hudhayfah ibn Asid al-Ghifari (RA):

“The Prophet ﷺ came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion). He said: ‘What are you discussing?’ They (the companions) said: ‘We are talking about the Last Hour.’ Thereupon he said:
‘It will not come until you see ten signs before it.’
Then he (mentioned them):
The Smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of ‘Isa (Jesus), Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog), three landslides—one in the East, one in the West, and one in Arabia— and the last is a fire which will emerge from Yemen and drive the people to their gathering place.’”

1. The Dajjal (The False Messiah / Antichrist)

A one-eyed liar who will claim to be divine. He will perform miracles and deceive many, except true believers. He will travel the world, but will be unable to enter Mecca and Medina.

2. The Return of ‘Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him)

Prophet ‘Isa (AS) will descend near a white minaret in Damascus. He will break the cross, kill the swine, abolish the jizyah, and kill the Dajjal. He will rule with justice according to Islam.

3. Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog)

Two barbaric tribes unleashed after the Dajjal’s death. They will wreak havoc and destruction on earth until Allah destroys them with a special disease.

4. The Smoke (Ad-Dukhan)

A thick smoke that will fill the sky and cover the earth for 40 days. It will affect both believers and disbelievers—but severely torment the latter.

5. The Beast (Ad-Dabbah)

A strange beast will emerge from the earth (likely from Makkah). It will speak to people and mark them—distinguishing between believer and disbeliever.

6. The Sun Rising from the West

A dramatic reversal of the natural order. When this happens, Tawbah (repentance) will no longer be accepted.

Massive earthquakes or sinkings of the earth:

• One in the East

• One in the West

• One in the Arabian Peninsula

These landslides will swallow entire regions.

10. The Fire from Yemen

A fire will emerge from Yemen (or the area of Aden) and drive people toward their final gathering place (al-Mahshar) for the beginning of the reckoning.
